The Drawing Room is a little different from our artist-led classes. There’s no formal teaching or instruction. It’s an hour to show up, create alongside other people and see where it takes you.
Each week Ellie will bring a simple reference - perhaps a homegrown tomato, some flowers from the garden or an object from the studio - which you can use as a starting point. Or bring something of your own. Draw, paint, play with pastels or charcoal, pick up an idea from a recent STILL class, or simply start with an open mind and a blank piece of paper.
It’s a space to practise, experiment, follow your curiosity, make mistakes and worry a little less about the finished result. One quiet hour in the diary each week to come back to your creativity and see what happens.
STILL classes give you guidance. The Drawing Room gives you space to follow where it leads.
Once you have booked you will receive an email asking you to download files. Please download these files, they are the zoom link and photo prompt needed for the class.
I actually thought it was a perfect hour - I sat down and drew with a pencil and a rubber for most of the hour . There was little interaction or disturbance and no invitation to share work , which actually took the pressure off the next session .
I loved the familiar set up of the still life and had never before drawn tomatoes 🍅. I am hooked and looking forward to next week .
