PLEASE SCROLL ALONG FOR THE STILL LIFE PHOTOGRAPHS YOU WILL NEED
This is a recorded class on zoom so the quality of the video can vary
You will need:
Paper:
Cartridge paper:
Julianna likes to use cartridge paper for experimenting and getting her hand/eye in - a lighter weight is totally fine and also more affordable. Daler - Rowney fine grain lightly textured A4 200gsm drawing paper is good.
Watercolour paper:
For slightly more considered artworks, to keep/frame, she usually uses a heavy (300 g ish) water colour paper, usually I go for textured but smooth is also fine. You can try Daler-Rowney Aquafine smooth hot-pressed watercolour and gouache 300gsm paper.
Paint brushes - a selection of different size paint brushes.
Paint
Gouache:
Julianna often uses tubes of Windsor Newton ‘designers gouache’ and these are the main colours she will be using in the class in case you want to get them…
Raw sienna
Oxide of chromium
Flesh tint
Naples yellow
Cerulean
Venetian red
But any gouache paints either pans or tubes will work, just make sure you have a selection of colours that you like.
Pencils
Not absolutely necessary but sometimes nice to sign your work!
A few little pots/jars for water and some kitchen paper towel for blotting!
