Join Zack for a demonstration in his approach to small-scale still life paper works in acrylic gouache. You will be given a photo of simple studio furniture to work from, and start by sketching out in pencil certain elements from the image that you feel drawn to, paying special attention to pushing the perspective and colors beyond "reporting" and into a more interesting and expressive composition.
Over the course of the session, we will explore different layering possibilities with the medium to create painterly and descriptive textures, as well as correcting (or leaving) mistakes along the way in a way that makes the image more compelling.
