Join artist Nancy Gruskin for an evening of making small collage “sketches” with hand-painted papers. We will begin by making quick and loose paintings on paper of still life objects and then enjoy the freedom that comes with cutting and pasting these paintings into new compositions. Nancy will show you how she uses these improvisational collages as subject matter in larger drawings and paintings. To work alongside Nancy, you will need water-based paint (acrylics, watercolor, gouache, or acrylic gouache), paper, scissors, and glue.
All levels are welcome.

This workshop is an absolute must to do. Nancy is unbelievably generous with her knowledge & thought-process. She takes you through her thinking out loud as she contemplates colour & composition. Do not scroll past this workshop!
Fabulous class!!! Such a wonderful invitation to play …loved the looseness and lack of perfectionism in the painting then the cutting and collaring was addictive!! Think I found a way to use all the papers and now I’m contemplating setting up my own scenes to have another play! Highly recommend this class at whatever level of art you’re at … you can do this and have a blast playing!
The best workshop yet, Nancy was so professional in her planning and delivery, an excellent tutor. It was full of useful tips and inspiring substance.
I've enjoyed all the pre recorded classes I've purchased - there's something very special about having the opportunity to go along with the artist's approach - but this one feels extra-very-special. It's made me think a lot more and differently about collage and its possibilities which is quite exciting. It's made me want explore more about Nancy's work. And I think she has a lovely teaching style.
