Join painter Fiona Carver for an evening of still life oil painting.
Fiona will guide you through her process of painting in oils to help you create a simple still life with an atmosphere of quiet calm.
Fiona will briefly talk about her favourite still life artists before showing you some of her own work. Next, you’ll learn how to prepare you board for painting and Fiona will explain her method of mixing paint using a limited palette of 5 colours plus white. Then follow along as Fiona works on a simple still life starting with a rough tonal underpainting before building the image up with paint. She will teach you how to look at form and tone and make adjustments and refinements to create your finished painting.
