Join Jill for a lesson focussing on structure and balance; looking to find space through drawing, colour and light.
Jill will demonstrate how using a limited palette can simplify decisions about colour, creating balance and a sense of scale within the painting. We’ll address the challenges of working from a flat surface onto a flat surface and recreating a sense of real space with believable distance and depth.
Working from objects sitting in space and flat coloured shapes describing surfaces, we’ll seek out rhythm and connections between solid objects and negative spaces that the eye responds to.
